LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas reports security measures will be increased at the property on certain nights and early mornings during select days of the week.

This trendy resort has so much to offer inside. You pretty much don't have to leave the resort. Glass doors open to an expansive wraparound private terrace allowing fresh air and sunlight to pour into the spacious interior. With panoramic views of the Vegas skyline, the Wraparound Terrace Suite boasts amenities not typically found in a luxury Las Vegas hotel room, including a sleek wet bar with a Sub-Zero wine chiller. Here's a tour of the Two Queen City Room at The Cosmopolitan. These are the base (lowest price) rooms at the resort. They either face City Center/Aria/Vdara. The additional security will be in effect starting Friday at 6 p.m. until 6 a.m., according to a property spokesperson. And will continue every Friday and Saturday for the foreseeable future during the overnight hours.
In partnership with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, these new procedures are effective immediately beginning tonight and every Friday and Saturday.

- Las Vegas Boulevard doors facing East will be designated as entry-only and restricted to:
- Hotel guests with a room reservation
- Guests with F&B reservations
- Identity Rewards members and casino guests
- Las Vegas Boulevard doors facing Northeast will be exit only:
- Guests attempting to enter at this location will be redirected to the doors near Starbucks
- Sky Bridge doors will be utilized for entry and exiting. Entrance will be restricted to:
- Hotel guests with a room reservation
- Guests with F&B reservations
- Identity Rewards members and casino guests
- Safety Screening upon entry:
- Each guest will be checked with handheld metal detectors
- All bags, purses and backpacks will be cursory searched
- All open and oversized alcoholic beverages or glass products will not be allowed and must be consumed or disposed of before entry
- Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) personnel will be stationed at each entry point to observe and assist resort Security.
An uptick in recent violence reported on the Las Vegas Strip has previously caught the attention of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Department and the Clark County Commissioners.
The police department announced Operation Persistent Pressure earlier this week, as violent crime in the resort corridor is up more than 4% compared to this time last year.
Earlier on Friday, social media reports surfaced about the possible security additions being added at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
